What is it?
The Widgets area allows ASAs or Admins to control the content of specific areas of your website. NOTE: Widgets must be set up by the MC Professional Design Team. If you have questions about adding or editing a widget, contact the Help Team.
How to Access
Widgets can be accessed and edited by navigating to Website > Widgets.
Advanced Website Designs, Widgets and other Dynamic Elements
How it Works
In general, design elements such as menus, widgets, and other dynamic elements which are included in the design will appear based on the menu item(s) to which they are assigned. For example, you may have an HTML widget which is only assigned to appear on the Community menu item. When a member logs in, if his or her group landing page is set to be the Community menu item, the widget will appear on the right side of the page. The presence of the widget will be determined by the menu item(s) to which it is assigned. The MemberClicks help or design teams can set the element to appear on the menu items desired.
NOTE: Widgets and other advanced elements can only be assigned to menu items, they cannot be assigned to articles.
Let's take a closer look at the example above starting with the site Home page:
Note that the Home menu item is set to be the default for the entire website and that it displays widgets in the content area (called The Benefits of Membership and What is Lorem Ipsum?) as well as a right bar.
When you visit the Member Landing Page (an interior page of the site) in addition to displaying a single article in the main body of the page, Quick Links and Announcements appear on the right side because that menu and widget have been set to display on the Member Landing Page menu item.
Helpful Hints
Widgets such as HTML widgets (ex. Announcements), Upcoming Events, and Quick Links are great ways to engage members and other site visitors. They can also be big time savers which reduce the need to create the same content on multiple pages.
Once a widget has been created by the MC Professional Design Team, it can be assigned to display on all menu items or ONLY on select menu items. If your widget is set to display on select ONLY menu items, the Help Team will be happy to assign it to display on more menu items or remove it from existing menu items as needed.

Question - I know the Sponsor Slider widget requires images to be a particular size, but I can't find what that size should be. I have a new sponsor slider image to add - what is the required size?
Hi Gabrielle - It looks like the image in there now is 293px × 200px. You can find the size of an image in your current slideshow by right clicking on the image and choosing View Image Info.
I updated login widgets -- top half and lower half -- and cleared my cache, ensured the widget was published and permissions were on, but nothing showed. I wanted to see where information would display for each of those two widgets.
1) Do you have an example showing those widgets in use, such as a login page screen capture?
2) Why did the changes to ours not display?
Thank you,
Nancy
Hi Nancy - I took a look at your site and didn't see content in the top or lower widgets. I added some text to both to see if they were working and did see it appear on the login page. You might try going in again to add content to one or both widgets. If you still don't see text there, I would suggest reaching out to the Help Team so that they can dig in further.
Hi, if i wanted to add / refresh the slider images for my home page, it looks like I have to go through the MC support team - is that correct? what size should the images be?
Hello Marci! Slider Images should be 980xHeight (you can choose the height, but you'll want it to be consistent - 980x245, for example).
That said, it looks like you're redirecting most of your pages to your custom domain, as your MemberClicks product does not have a slider. If you need to change out the sliders on your custom domain, you'll need to make those adjustments and get that sizing for the platform you manage that site in.
